End of the semester wrap-up
-I have successfully maintained my weight this semester, despite my eating habits being...less than good. I will get back on track next semester.
-Making new friends.
-The new Spotify for Facebook app. So much new music...I love it!!
-Passing all my classes and successfully entering into the 2nd half of senior year. Yikes. Am I really almost done with college?
-This song in particular:
The Bad:
-Having some of the worst final project groups ever. Dear professors: this is why you should let your students pick their own groups...
-Talking to a guy for 3 weeks, and then having him start ignoring me. Because that's SUCH a mature way to act...

The music blog, part 3!
Now, on to something not music-related. One of my friends and I decided to hit Target yesterday. We found some GREAT sales on workout gear - C9 by Champion running shorts are running between $10-$15! Of course, we stocked up. If you need workout gear, I'd make a trip over to Target and take advantage of the sales!!

Oh hey summer, what's up?!
Maybe now I can get back to being a good blogger, at least until classes start again in the fall. ;)
I'm going to enjoy my first weekend of summer with a few of my faves, and then I'll have a real post next week!!

100th post!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far! Mine has been crazy busy, as I expected. I'm back from spring break (Boo!!) so my profs have, of course, been piling on the work.
I've had a few other...uh...interesting things happen this week, but I'll save THAT for a later post. ;)
Workout song of the week:
Artist: TobyMac
Song: Funky Jesus Music
Album: Tonight (2010)
One of my friends introduced me to this song, and even though it's not really my "style" of music, it's been great to exercise to. It has also been stuck in my head for the past 4 days.
Time for class to start!

Short and sweet
I recently had the opportunity to write a guest post for The Singing Runner while she's on her trip to Costa Rica. It's a combination "my workout routine/how to deal with injury" post. Look for it the evening of March 18!
Thanks Katy for letting me write a post for TSR! Stay safe in Costa Rica!

Whoops!
First, my playlist (which worked really well to keep me motivated)
Dude why does that always end up so tiny? Sorry y'all!! I tried to make it bigger and it got really blurry!
If anyone can't read that and wants me to type it all out, leave a comment and I'll do it in my next post!
There were a TON of people at the 5K walk. I heard later that there were something like 3,000+, which I really didn't expect!! I got a picture of the starting line but Blogger refuses to size it the way I want it, so take my word for it...there were a TON of people.
I enjoyed my normal breakfast of cereal and yogurt before heading out. When I got to the expo, there was a table giving out mini Larabars, so of course I had one (unpictured). It was the Coconut Cream Pie flavor and it was delicious. I ended up coming back post-race to grab a Cherry Pie Larabar. Also very good.
The weather was absolutely perfect - not too hot, not too cold! The only complaint I had about the course is that they ran out of water stations at the very end. Next time, I'll bring my own water bottle!

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was low-key...studied for a finance exam I have this week (eww), went to church, went shopping...that kind of thing.
Oh, and I finally found this delicious stuff at my local grocery store:
http://www.stonyfield.com/oikos/greek_yogurt/4_oz/chocolate/index.jsp
CHOCOLATE OIKOS!!
It's SO delicious. You have to try it, if you haven't already!! The grocery store also had a big sale on Kashi products, so I have been enjoying my chocolate Oikos on top of Honey Sunshine and Kashi Go Lean Berry Crunch. Ah-mazing. Has anyone tried the caramel flavor yet? I will be picking that up next time!

I still can't smell anything!
Why haven't I posted? I came down with a cold/flu/virus thing and was out of it all last week. I missed my first day of classes in a semester and a half...and promptly had a professor ask me for a note proving I was sick on the day I came back. Wait...what? Strange. Anyway, I am feeling much better, although I'm still waiting for my sense of smell (and taste, by extension) to come back...
On to more pleasant things: Happy Valentine's Day!! Or, as I read on Facebook this morning: "To my friends in a relationship: Happy Valentine's Day. To my single friends: Happy Singles Awareness Day. To my friends who don't care: Happy Monday."
I think that sums it up nicely. ;)
Longer post later this week!

Yes, I know what month it is.
Yes, indeed, that is Christmas music.
But DUDE. It's SO GOOD!
And, of course, it helps that the guy singing it is one of my favorite singers of all time. click and click again

Study face and TAM
I guess this means I should get off the blog/Twitter/Facebook and actually finish studying? ;)
Something to think about:
http://www.thyroidawarenessmonth.com/ I've dealt with hypothyroidism since middle school, so I was pleased to find out that January is Thyroid Awareness Month. A lot of people don't know what a thyroid is or how important its function is to the body! Take a couple minutes to read up on it.
Random observation of the day:
Why is it that guys really take notice of you when you're sick, in sweats, little to no makeup, glasses, hair pulled back...? Does this only happen to me or can any other girls relate? Personally, I think it's hilarious. :)

Here we go!
It's back to class for me tomorrow. Fun, right? Haha. The stubborn sinus infection seems to be gone. Thank God for antibiotics! The only downside to the 2nd antibiotic was that I couldn't consume dairy products 6 hours before or 2 hours after I took it. So, as a celebration, 6 hours after I took the last dose, I made a smoothie with *real* milk. ;)
Ingredients:
1 cup 2% milk
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Small handful of frozen strawberries
Small handful of frozen broccoli
1 tbsp of Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter
The Dark Chocolate Dreams made the smoothie. (If you haven't tried it, you absolutely HAVE to. It's addicting.)
In other news, I signed up for my first 5K...Walk. I'm super excited!

Sinusitis: round 2...and other things
I finished the original antibiotic, but I was still feeling sick. So my doctor put me on a stronger antibiotic for another week. I am hoping and praying that this one works, especially since classes start back up in under a week!! I'm taking 16 (!!) credit hours this semester. I don't have time to be sick!!
Despite not feeling that great, I have managed to exercise a little. (Thanks ExerciseTV.) These are the 2 workouts I've been doing the most...

You put WHAT in a smoothie?
If you look close enough, you might see some little green dots in my latest smoothie. That is broccoli.
Apparently sinus infections make me more smoothie-inventive? Haha.
Before you start "EWWW"ing all over the place...you cannot taste the broccoli. At all. (Well, I actually like broccoli, so it wouldn't be a problem for me if I could. But for the rest of you, who may or may not like broccoli...trust me, you cannot taste it.)
What did I put in this smoothie?
1/2 banana
1/2-1 cup frozen strawberries
5-8 frozen broccoli "trees"
1/2-1 cup milk
1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt
I didn't exactly measure, so all those are estimates.

Two things I learned about dating in 2010.
- Guys: Respect your girl's beliefs.
If your girlfriend (or the girl you would like to make your girlfriend) has a different view on something than you do, hear her out! Why does she believe that? What drew her to the conclusion that caused her to form that belief? Don't dump or ignore her because of a difference of opinion. Listen to her reasoning behind it. Who knows? You find that you may agree!
**The key word here is RESPECT. Don't force her to change her mind or do something she doesn't want to.** - Girls: If the guy won't respect your beliefs, find one who will.
I have some experience in this area. I'm a TLW kind of girl. (10 points if you recognize the acronym! ;) ) Not all guys think that being TLW is a good thing, which I didn't fully realize until 2010.
If the guy is pressuring you to change your beliefs or do something that you don't want to, tell him NO and drop him as fast as you can. (Yep, I had to do this.)
