Study face and TAM

Happy Thursday, bloggies! Hope your week has been going great! Mine's been pretty decent - I can't complain. Well, except for the fact that I have 2 quizzes tomorrow...but at least they're quizzes, not tests!

I guess this means I should get off the blog/Twitter/Facebook and actually finish studying? ;)

Something to think about:

http://www.thyroidawarenessmonth.com/ I've dealt with hypothyroidism since middle school, so I was pleased to find out that January is Thyroid Awareness Month. A lot of people don't know what a thyroid is or how important its function is to the body! Take a couple minutes to read up on it.

Random observation of the day:
Why is it that guys really take notice of you when you're sick, in sweats, little to no makeup, glasses, hair pulled back...? Does this only happen to me or can any other girls relate? Personally, I think it's hilarious. :)

I've got a feeling it won't be long...

Well, I've been back in school for 1 week. I've got a pretty good feeling about this semester already, hence this song...

"I've got a feeling that it won't be long...maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong..."

Here we go!

Hey bloggies!!

It's back to class for me tomorrow. Fun, right? Haha. The stubborn sinus infection seems to be gone. Thank God for antibiotics! The only downside to the 2nd antibiotic was that I couldn't consume dairy products 6 hours before or 2 hours after I took it. So, as a celebration, 6 hours after I took the last dose, I made a smoothie with *real* milk. ;)

Ingredients:

1 cup 2% milk
1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Small handful of frozen strawberries
Small handful of frozen broccoli
1 tbsp of Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter

The Dark Chocolate Dreams made the smoothie. (If you haven't tried it, you absolutely HAVE to. It's addicting.)

In other news, I signed up for my first 5K...Walk. I'm super excited!

Sinusitis: round 2...and other things

...hopefully this is the last round!! Sinus infections are no bueno.

I finished the original antibiotic, but I was still feeling sick. So my doctor put me on a stronger antibiotic for another week. I am hoping and praying that this one works, especially since classes start back up in under a week!! I'm taking 16 (!!) credit hours this semester. I don't have time to be sick!!

Despite not feeling that great, I have managed to exercise a little. (Thanks ExerciseTV.) These are the 2 workouts I've been doing the most...

You put WHAT in a smoothie?

If you look close enough, you might see some little green dots in my latest smoothie. That is broccoli.

Apparently sinus infections make me more smoothie-inventive? Haha.

Before you start "EWWW"ing all over the place...you cannot taste the broccoli. At all. (Well, I actually like broccoli, so it wouldn't be a problem for me if I could. But for the rest of you, who may or may not like broccoli...trust me, you cannot taste it.)

What did I put in this smoothie?

1/2 banana
1/2-1 cup frozen strawberries
5-8 frozen broccoli "trees"
1/2-1 cup milk
1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt

I didn't exactly measure, so all those are estimates.

Two things I learned about dating in 2010.

Actually, I learned a lot about dating in 2010. The 2 I picked may sound really, really obvious, but I personaly think they are still worth stating.

  • Guys: Respect your girl's beliefs.
If your girlfriend (or the girl you would like to make your girlfriend) has a different view on something than you do, hear her out! Why does she believe that? What drew her to the conclusion that caused her to form that belief? Don't dump or ignore her because of a difference of opinion. Listen to her reasoning behind it. Who knows? You find that you may agree!
**The key word here is RESPECT. Don't force her to change her mind or do something she doesn't want to.**
  • Girls: If the guy won't respect your beliefs, find one who will.
I have some experience in this area. I'm a TLW kind of girl. (10 points if you recognize the acronym! ;) ) Not all guys think that being TLW is a good thing, which I didn't fully realize until 2010.
If the guy is pressuring you to change your beliefs or do something that you don't want to, tell him NO and drop him as fast as you can. (Yep, I had to do this.)
